WJPS Students Receive Awards at Ceremony
On the morning of Wednesday June 2, the WJPS school community gathered in the Auditorium for their annual awards ceremony. Awards were given to students for attendance, service, academics and athletic prowess. These awarded students have gone above and upon in their classrooms or school community.
Some highlights of the morning ceremony included the middle school students receiving awards for ELA, Math, Technology, Science and Social Studies along with physical education. The Editors of the Blazer, the WJPS school newspaper, received awards from the Empire State School Press Association and the Columbia University School of Journalism for excellence in editing, editorial content and sports writing. Select sixth and eighth grade students were honored for their service and hard work with the children from PS 233, the District 75 school located in the basement floor of the school campus.
On Thursday June 3, the Seniors of WJPS will receive their awards in a ceremony in the auditorium starting at 7:00 PM. The entire WJPS Community is invited to attend.
